Spectator Health Appoints Physician Executive Dr. Riggs as Senior Advisor

Spectator Health, a leader in senior living clinical technology, today announced the appointment of Dr. Riggs, a physician executive with more than 33 years of healthcare leadership experience, as Senior Advisor. Dr. Riggs will work closely with the executive team to guide Spectator Health's clinical strategy and support the growth of its clinical management platform, Spectator Health Pro, across assisted living, board and care, and residential care markets.

Dr. Riggs brings more than 33 years of experience in healthcare, including 28 years at Cedars-Sinai, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer from 2019 through 2025. During his tenure, he chaired the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation from 1997 to 2020, served as Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer beginning in 2015, and led the establishment of the Division of Informatics in the Department of Biomedical Sciences in 2017, along with the development of an ACGME-approved Clinical Informatics Fellowship. As Chief Medical Strategy Officer and Chief of Staff, he facilitated the launch of the California Rehabilitation Institute in 2016. He currently serves as Chief Medical Officer for HealthLeap AI, advises several other AI ventures, and holds the position of Executive in Residence at the Scottsdale Institute.

"Dr. Riggs is one of the most respected physician executives in senior care and health informatics, and his experience leading clinical strategy at a health system the size of Cedars-Sinai is exactly what we need as we scale Spectator Health Pro," said Spectator Health CEO Peter Longo. "His deep understanding of clinical technology, health policy, and operational excellence will be an incredible asset to our team and the operators we serve."

As Senior Advisor, Dr. Riggs will support Spectator Health's clinical and product teams, drawing on his experience in health informatics, clinical technology adoption, and health policy to help the company navigate the evolving needs of senior care providers, payers, and families.

"Senior care has long been one of the most underserved corners of healthcare when it comes to technology, and it's an area where thoughtful clinical informatics can make a real difference for residents, families, and caregivers," said Dr. Riggs. "Spectator Health has built a platform that reflects a genuine understanding of both the clinical and operational realities of this market, backed by a leadership team that takes that responsibility seriously. I'm looking forward to working with the team as they continue to scale."

Dr. Riggs' appointment comes as Spectator Health continues to expand Spectator Health Pro's footprint among board and care and assisted living operators, building on the platform's proprietary Real-time Care Gap Engine™, which processes data for more than 50 million members to help clinicians proactively identify and close gaps in senior care.
